Wednesday was Golf and Shopping day, after Linda’s french toast. Peter V and I met his brother Adrian and Sandra at Brooksville Country Club about 40 minutes away. They have a rental place in Spring Hill. The Brooksville course’s claim to fame is their four holes in and around an abandoned quarry. Yes, a rock quarry in Florida – but not granite – some sort of sandstone agglomerate for you geologists. PV had another boring round in the low 80s (he wants that reported). It’s an OK course, but not as good or well maintained as Lake Jovita. Judie, Linda and Sharyn shopped nearby at Wiregrass. It seems that JC Penny had a good day, compliments of the Canadian connection. The evening meal was home cooked frozen pizza. Then, to our respective books and beds.
Thursday was Linda’s 60th birthday. Cards, our combination house warming and birthday gifts and best wishes and later dinner at the Lake Jovita Golf Club Dining Room. Adrian and Sandra joined us. Since the P. Van Schies have become property owners and Peter joined the Golf Club here, their (and our) status has lept up a few notches. We are not supposed to use the dining room except on certain days, the exercise facilities, pool or tennis courts as renters – not that we have been wanting to yet. Peter and Linda do – they exercise daily (mostly) and swam in the pool when their grandchildren were here, using our landlord’s membership number.
