Monday, Tuesday

Monday. The weather report called for scattered thundershowers today and intermittent thundershowers Tuesday, so we decided to go to the beach at Honeymoon Island, which is a State Park, just north of Dunedin, about an hour drive. The beach was quite crowded, and the weather sunny and warm. We had a quick dip (Peter), a picnic lunch, and a walk along the beach picking up souvenirs. Then we drove back to Lake Jovita having decided that beaches are for kids or sun worshippers. We took the golf cart that comes with the villa out for a tour of the North golf course (Judie hadn’t seen it). The highlight was a large alligator near the pond between the 4th and 8th greens. We were quite amazed that we saw only one man sitting out in his lanai (screened porch) over the entire 18 holes. Then BBQ pork tenderloin and a late meal and we sat in ours and watched the sprinklers come on on the 18th hole.

Tuesday. I was up early for a solo golf game ahead of the crowd. I decided to play best ball by myself with mulligans on every shot. I was doing quite well when one of the ‘intermittents’ came along when I was about as far away from the villa as you can get. Thunder, lightning and a torrential downpour ensued. I rushed back to the villa, soaked and spooked. The rain runoff actually flooded into the screened porch! As I write, in a change of clothes, my clubs and cart are waiting outside and the thunder is still rolling. I hope to finish the round. The rain will do the course good, and may actually fill some of the dry water hazards. Today is packing day. We leave here Wednesday noon.

  1. Hey there Granny and Grampy to be, or will it be Nanny and Pappy? Gramma or Grampa, hmmmm? Congratulations!!!! We are so happy for all of you.

Judie, I love your hair! Peter, I'm glad the bolts missed you! Sounds like a great time, all the R&R, and friends too.

Question: Did the salesperson you mentioned a few blogs ago need Jockeys?
