We had breakfast at the B&B and left Katoomba in the fog and light rain heading back toward the coast and then north, inland a bit, through some great rock cuts and with some views of cattle country. We took a bit of a detour on the way to Forsters on the coast and then back to the main highway. We (especially Judie) watched for wildlife along the way but cattle, goats and one llama were the best Australia could offer until we turned coastward toward Port MacQuarrie. Then we spotted not one, not two, but a whole field of kangaroos. We stopped, approached, they watched, we approached, but then a noisy vehicle drove by and then they all hopped away. Another bit further along, we spied more kangaroos, stopped and got quite close this time for a few pictures. Port MacQuarrie is a very clean, more modern coastal retirement centre with restaurants and facilities more like we are accustomed to seeing in Florida. We checked in to our great 2-bedroom accommodation, watched some cricket and Aussie football, and then walked downtown to enjoy dinner at a Thai restaurant. Then back to more cricket and to bed.
