Off to Australia

We arose very early on February 28th and cabbed from our hotel to the Honolulu Airport.  No traffic!Upon checking in, we learned that we had to purchase a visa to enter Australia.  That done, we had a Starbucks breakfast and boarded our plane.  9.5 hours, 2 meals, 3.5 movies and some reading later, we had crossed the international dateline and it was March 1st - our 43rd anniversary somewhere over Fiji.  The plane circled over Sydney Harbour on our approach and gave us fine views.  Anne and Barry met us at the Sydney airport around 4 PM local time and we had a bit of a tour of busy downtown Sydney on our way to our motel in the suburb of Ryde.  After a bit of bubbly and freshening up, we 4 headed back into the city and had a fine dinner at a Kings Cross restaurant that A&B frequented when they lived in the city some years ago.  Then a bit of a walk around the neighborhood ensued and back to Ryde for a night's rest.
